My journey in woodturning.

It all began a long time ago (at school) when I was inspired by my woodwork teacher to explore the multitude of possibilities that working with wood can bring.

Due to work, family and other commitments I did not restart my working with wood until much later.

Here is a picture of the first turned object, made for someone special to me who was very ill at the time but has thankfully made a full recovery.

I then began designing and turning bowls, please see the gallery or the for sale page (if there is a design you like then feel free to get in touch jamie@jgwoodturning.co.uk)

A while ago I was asked to make something for a colleague to remember a dear family member.  I designed and made the table lamp below.

At work, I am part of a fund-raising team for local charities.  We held an auction recently, unfortunately all we had for the auctioneer was a small toffee hammer.  I knew that there was another auction coming up so I decided to make a palm gavel, I hope you like it.

The collection of bowls and platters below was on show at a local gallery in Portishead.  Unfortunately this gallery has now closed its doors, my collection (what is left of it) will soon be appearing elsewhere, keep an eye out for a further update.
